    Marjeyoun is a picturesque village in Southern Lebanon. Located 860 meters above sea level, Marjeyoun peacefully sits on a hill that faces Mount Hermon, Beaufort Castle, and Mount Lebanon.

    This village is characterized by fertile plains, traditional Lebanese houses, and churches.

    Greek Orthodox Christians compose the vast majority of the town’s population. However, there are also Maronite Christians and Greek Catholic Christians in Marjeyoun.

    This village is home to many churches including Mar Elias El Hay, Mar Boutros, and Saydet El Khalas.

    You can hike the Hasbaya-Marjeyoun trail. According to the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association, the hike is challenging.

    Marjeyoun’s valley is home to fertile agricultural plains. Locals are proud of their land that offers different kinds of fruits and vegetables.

    The architecture of the Lebanese houses is fascinating. The homes also contain traditional chandeliers, furniture, and sculptures.
