“United for Lebanon” is the name of the event that France’s national TV will organize in support of Lebanon.

On October 1st, the public channel France 2 will organize an evening of support that all television and digital station affiliated with France TV, the French public national television broadcaster, will participate in.

In a statement, France 2 said that the event will include live broadcasts from Paris and Beirut and that several programs will participate “in providing assistance to the Lebanese people.”

France 2 will broadcast the charity event in partnership with the public radio network France Inter; the event will also be transmitted directly from the Olympia Theater in the French capital.

According to the statement, United for Lebanon serves to raise donations through a large concert that will follow a televised program about the explosion that tore through Beirut on August 4th.

The French Red Cross will be cooperating with France TV and Radio France to manage the donations gathered during the concert and “will hand over all donations collected to the Lebanese Red Cross,” the statement said.

This initiative is the latest show of support by France for the Lebanese people ever since the Beirut Port catastrophe.

Recently, after French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Lebanon, France pledged around $8.3 million to Rafik Hariri University Hospital; the same hospital that was hacked by self-proclaimed Iranian hackers on Wednesday.

On its part, the European country’s flag carrier Air France has been helping provide essential items for the countless victims of the Beirut blast.

President Macron is set to visit Lebanon again in December to follow up with the Lebanese politicians on the pressing issue of implementing reforms.
