Nour Hage’s designs are based around the exploration and the combination of traditional cuts and ethnic silhouettes, using fabric to reflect on the Middle Eastern styles, including abayas.

Her brand has found fans among people like British actor and rapper Riz Ahmed, who has worn her pieces; Mashrou Leila guitarist Firas Abou Fakher who wore a custom abaya; and CNN that has named Nour Hage as a designer who is “reshaping the Beirut fashion scene”.

In 2021, the Beirut-born 33-year-old designer launched her digital art pieces as NFTs, listed on OpenSea, inspired by the role of women in leadership during antiquity in the Middle East.

The portraits of Dido, the reputed founder of Carthage in Greek legends; Zenobia, known as “warrior queen” who conquered Egypt; and Nefertiti, one of the most famous women of the ancient world and an icon of feminine beauty, were created out of scans of fabric, sold out within a couple of days of launching.

The Lebanese designer also released a Non-Fungible Token that is a legacy and homage to her grandmother through the clothes she handed down over the years.

Hage is currently a Fellow at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A Museum) in England and the recipient of the Boghossian Foundation Prize.
