At about 50 minutes from Beirut to the north, in the governorate of Batroun, the coastal town of Kfar Abida extends up to ample green hills overlooking its pristine beaches and resorts.
It carries an Aramaic name that means The Made Field, and there are also speculations that it could be an Assyrian name that means The Field of God’s Servant.
An ancient town with archeological findings dating 5000 years, and remnants of the Bronze Age predating the Phoenician era, Kfar Abida was home to ancient farmers and fishermen living from the blessings of the land and the sea.
Today, Kfar Abida is a destination for lovers of history and culture, natural reserves and outdoor activities, and also charming restaurants.
