    Baakline, Lebanon In 15 Amazing Photos

    Located in Chouf, Baakline is a picturesque village that overlooks Deir El Qamar.

    It is mostly famous for its natural heritage making this old town an attractive destination for adventurers and people who want to relax.

    The name “Baakline” is Syriac for “Beit Aakline”

    It means “the place of knots and turns.”

    The village was founded in the 12th century and served as the capital of the Maan emirs, including the Emir Fakhreddine II making Baakline a stronghold for the Druze community in Lebanon.

    Its public library was previously the Grand Seraglio, meaning the Grand Serail. The restoration took place in 1897.

    The Baakline Serail comprised a court, a prison, and a gendarmerie.
