Prime Minister Najib Mikati chaired a meeting of the “Ministerial Committee in charge of dealing with the repercussions of the financial crisis on the functioning of the public utility” in the Grand Serail.

In a statement after the meeting, Minister of Social Affairs Hector Hajjar announced that multiple scenarios were discussed regarding the public sector, especially the security forces, education, the judiciary, and Ogero.

In turn, Defense Minister Maurice Selim said: “The transportation allowance that was scheduled for the military, which amounts to 1,200,000 LL per month, the Ministerial Committee, headed by the president, decided that it would become 1,800,000 LL per month.”

The committee is supposed to meet once again to complete the research and take the appropriate decisions.
