    Updated, August 4th, 2022.

August 4th, 2021 might seem like any other regular summer day for anyone not Lebanese. For Lebanon, it marks one year after one of its darkest days in history: The Beirut Port Explosion.

One year since one of the most devastating non-nuclear explosions in history quaked Lebanon, crumbled its capital, killed over 230 people, and injured thousands.

One year since the excruciating catastrophe with no answers and no justice served. The perpetrators of this massive crime are still free.

Say their names because they are not just numbers in a list.

Say their names because every victim who was killed by the August 4 explosion was a precious human being, loving and honoring life, and dreaming of and planning for a future they would never get to live.

Fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, wives, husbands, grandmothers, grandfathers… Every one of them meant the world for someone. Authoritative negligence killed them, snatching them away from their loved ones forever.
