961 is always on the lookout for ways to develop Lebanon’s young talent! Our summer internship program has proven to be an incredibly great opportunity for university students in Lebanon to get real hands-on working experience in their field of study.
961 has grown to become the leading English media company for Lebanese and the fastest-growing outlet in the country serving 4 million annual readers.
This year’s program is bigger than ever as 961 is expanding the program offering positions across all our divisions.
The positions are offered hybrid, in line with 961’s goal of being hybrid-first, with almost all available remotely with the exception of a few. Any positions indicated as remote may work in-person out of our 961 HQ (we prefer that but don’t require it).
Most internship positions are open to students worldwide, however, in a bid to develop the local talent pool, priority will be given to students in Lebanon as well as to Lebanese students abroad.
If you’re interested in the internship after the summer, mention it in your application. Ideal university programs are those relevant that we believe would be most suitable for the position, however, this is not required.
Internships are unpaid, however, 961 gives candidates who complete the program first consideration for full-time paid positions.

961 HQ
CEO Apprenticeship – Filled
For the first time, we’re opening an internship apprentice position where you can shadow 961’s CEO and learn hands-on high-level managerial skills. Your tasks will include anything from administrative/assistant type work to joining the CEO in meetings with high-profile corporate, political, and diplomatic people.
This competitive position will be filled by the talent we believe embodies high potential future leaders and entrepreneurship traits with ambitions for management roles. Candidates who graduated from this program are fast-tracked towards managerial roles within the 961 organization after graduation.

Developer or any tech-related position
961 is a tech-driven company – come experiment with us! We’re looking for someone who thinks outside the box and believes that tech is the solution for most (read: all) problems. From programming automation for 961Offices and developing solutions for a more efficient system for our media/news divisions, or designing a more user-friendly front end.

Internship Program Manager
Take a leading managerial role by managing interns. You’ll work on expanding our program by recruiting interns, onboarding them to the right division (collecting required information), managing the team (addressing any issues or concerns), as well as issuing completion certificates and/or filling the required forms for universities.

961’s media division manages its magazine section that covers the latest engaging stories Lebanese need to hear, as well as the light content such as Guides (places to go, things to do, events, etc), relatable viral listicles, and more.
Editor
Editors manage and edit articles produced by staff writers. You’re required to do some fact-checking, format fixing, and correcting grammar, and ensure the articles are well presented.

Staff Writer
Staff writers cover the latest local stories, best places in Lebanon, new and trending spots, and viral relatable listicles.

Social Media Manager
Social Media Manager helps manage our social presence from engaging with our audience, by replying to comments and messages, and creating engaging stories to curating viral Lebanese content.

Social Content Creator – Tiktok & Reels
Social Content Creator knows how to make a video go viral on Tiktok. You know the trends and can find a way to get ahead of them by creating content or repurposing our existing content such as articles. You’re not afraid to be in front of the camera when needed, represent 961, and grow our, primarily, Tiktok presence. You’re given full flexibility to create as you see fit.

Video Content Creator
You’re a filmmaker at heart. You love showing the story rather than telling it. You know how to find the right angle (story-wise and on camera). You love filming but also editing your own work.
You’ll be behind a new behind-the-scenes series where you’ll show what it’s like at 961, following our CEO and our team venture through the good and bad of Lebanon, the news stories, and expanding our divisions!

Media Sales
This position requires you to take a primary role in expanding 961’s main revenue source: Advertising. You will convert inbound leads to secure advertising deals for 961. In addition, you will do cold outreach to companies and brands to convert them into advertisers on 961.

961News is 961’s news division covering critical spot news as well as investigative and solution-based journalism.
Editor
Editors manage and edit articles produced by news reporters and journalists. You’re required to do fact-checking, format fixing, correct grammar, ensure articles are well presented and have an understanding of current affairs and the Lebanese political scene.

News Reporter
News reporters break the latest news happening in Lebanon. You’re passionate about the Lebanese and regional political scene as well as calling out injustices. Early talent will be reassigned to work on investigative pieces.
