Lebanon has officially declared a two-day public holiday to mark the visit of Pope Leo XIV, who will be in the country from November 30 to December 2, 2025.

The government announced that Monday and Tuesday, December 1 and 2, will be official holidays nationwide.

During this period, all public administrations, government institutions, municipalities, universities, and both public and private schools will be closed.

The decision aims to allow citizens to participate in welcoming the Pope and attending the scheduled events throughout his visit.

Pope Leo XIV’s apostolic visit will include stops in Annaya, Harissa, Bkerke, and Beirut, as well as meetings with national leaders, religious figures, and youth. The trip will conclude with a public Mass at the Beirut Waterfront on December 2.
