Magda Malkoun is a self-taught and impressively talented artist who uses her passion for photography and sculpture in her artworks. She’s deemed as one of the best emerging artists as of 2021.
Born in Beirut in 1982, the Lebanese artist is now living in Dubai, where she is focusing on her career as an artist after pursuing a career in business.
In her creations, Magda uses a variety of materials, textures, and painting tools to bring to life her thoughts about people and their impacting environment.
Many describe her art as multifaceted, mixed media, and sustainable.
When she first started her career in arts, her main focus was to convey the psychology behind an individual and depict their emotions of happiness and grief.
While trying to create amazing pieces of art, her main inspiration comes from the internal conflicts reflected by being expatriated herself and the feeling of displacement.
The Lebanon-born artist also encompasses figurative and abstract art reflecting on her many journeys away from her motherland, while focusing on Beirut and the many issues affecting her country.
Magda Malkoun has participated in many exhibitions in Dubai, including:
- World Art Dubai, Online Art Gallery, World Trade Centre Dubai, in October 2020.
- “Earth”, Online Art Gallery, DIFC Dubai, in November 2020.
- The 49th UAE National Day Exhibition, Art Gallery, at Andaz Hotel, at the Palm.
World Art Dubai also described the talented Lebanese artist as the “Best Emerging Artist of 2021″.
Magda Malkoun is also a well-known figure in the NFT art world. One of her pieces, depicting her hometown Beirut as a strong and confident female was recently sold for three Ethereum at Art Dubai 2022.
