AlJadeed reported that George Siam raided the Intercontinental Bank of Lebanon (IBL) in Hazmieh, Baabda demanding his deposit.
According to the depositors union, Siam is the honorary consul general of Ireland in Lebanon and he is still inside the bank.
The union tweeted inviting others to come to the Bank in solidarity with depositor George Siam.
After the recent events witnessed by banks, especially today in Byblos bank Tyre, and the First National Bank Tripoli, the head of the Union of Banks Employees, George Hajj, confirmed to Al Markaziya that “what happened yesterday and today in some banks is not called “intrusions”, but rather violations that have been addressed and do not require closure.”
