Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of seven of its members in an Israeli airstrike targeting an observation post in Tallet al-Rahib, Aita al-Shaab, in southern Lebanon earlier today.
The deceased are identified as Ali Raef Ftouni, Houssam Mohammad Ibrahim, Ali Hodroj, Mohammad Hassan Mansour, Adam Hussein Omais, Bilal Hussein Madi, and Hassan Ballout Haddatha.
In a statement, Hezbollah said, “With deep pride and honor, the Islamic Resistance mourns its fallen members, including Adam Hussein Omais from Ebba, Bilal Hussein Madi, and Hassan Ballout Haddatha.”
The statement concluded, “They laid down their lives due to the Zionist enemy’s assault on southern Lebanon this afternoon, Monday, October 9, 2023.”
Hezbollah’s media only admitted to 3 of the deaths; Ali Raef Ftouni, Houssam Mohammad Ibrahim, and Ali Hassan Hodroj. Hezbollah often downplays the true number of casualties for propaganda purposes.
