These Are The 8 Officials And Judges Being Charged Over The Beirut Port Blast

On Monday, Judge Tarek Bitar unexpectedly continued his investigation into the Beirut Port blast after a 13-month hiatus.

He immediately ordered the release of 5 detainees but also charged 8 officials and judges , a first in Lebanon's history.

All the names have been released:

Prosecutor-General Ghassan Oueidat

Judge Ghassan Khoury

Judge Carla Shawwah

Judge Jad Maalouf

Higher Customs Council chief Asaad Toufaili

Higher Customs Council member Gracia al-Qazi

General Security chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim

State Security chief Major General Tony Saliba
