Lebanon Is Imposing A 3-Day Total Lockdown During Easter To Avoid A Surge In Cases
Lebanon just announced a 3-day total lockdown for the Easter holiday to prevent a potential surge in COVID-19 cases.
The total lockdown, including a 24-hour curfew, will begin on the morning of Saturday, April 3rd until the morning of Tuesday, April 6th.
During these 3 days, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics, gas stations, will be allowed to stay open and restaurants will be permitted to provide 24-hour delivery service.
To leave the house, people may get a permit for emergencies through the IMPACT website , which serves as an open data platform for all internal Lebanese affairs .
Face masks will be mandatory at all times.
Prayers and visits to churches as well as mosques will be permitted at a 30% capacity with permission from the IMPACT platform .
People will also be allowed to go or come from the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, granted they have a permit.
This is being done to prevent a similar massive spike in coronavirus cases that followed Christmas and New Years' celebrations which Lebanon is still trying to recover from.
