Food In Lebanon Will Be Priced In USD Starting Next Week

Caretaker Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam , confirmed that the decision to price foodstuffs in US dollars will begin early next week.

He stated this after his meeting with Maronite Patriarch Rah i and informed that a cabinet session will be held either on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Head of Supermarket Owners Syndicate, Nabil Fahd, spoke to MTV about the decision and stated that there will be no changes for the citizens when it comes to payments in supermarkets.

He went on to say that pricing in dollars will actually benefit the consumer and create competition.
