Rabih Mokbel, current chairman of Venture Lifestyle – an event management company, has designed a space in Cairo, Egypt, to help Lebanese designers.

The event, which took place in Uptown Cairo from November 4th to November 7th, was specifically created to support the Lebanese designers who got impacted by the Beirut explosion of August 4th.

The event brought a vibrant mix of art, fashion, music, food, and workshops, where the central focus was on the designers, with fashion shows as well as jewelry on display.

In an interview with Forbes, Mokbel said that he created the event for the Lebanese designers who are not making any income at the moment because of the explosion.

He generously flew in the designers from Lebanon at his management’s expenses so that they could sell their products and at no charge, offering them an opportunity to make a profit. That’s how his heart is with his country people, as he expressed.

The entrepreneur emphasized that the event did charge local Egyptian designers who participated, among which Okhtein and Kojak, but not the Lebanese designers as this event was specifically organized to support them.

Throughout the event, donations were also collected, jewelry pieces were auctioned, and all proceeds were pledged to Lebanon.

He’s known to be one of the top event creators and organizers in the middle east and has organized several huge events in the past, including getting Jennifer Lopez to Cairo.

Among his clients are Emaar and Samsung, and his social and business networks include VIPs the like of Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris.

Mokbel’s plans for the near future is to organize a Cairo Fashion week at the Great Pyramids with renowned Lebanese fashion designers such as Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad, showcasing notorious Lebanese talents.
