Lebanese-British singer, songwriter, and recording artist Mika will be broadcasting a “very intimate” show to raise money for the people affected by the Beirut explosion.

All areas close to the mushroom-like blast in Beirut port were demolished thus leaving hundreds dead, thousands injured, and way more homeless.

The famous singer shared a video, explaining the ongoing declining situation in Lebanon since the civil war and now, the explosion.

And, he shared his contribution to his homeland and how his 1.3 Million Instagram followers can help the devastated country. He even changed his IG profile image to “I Love Beirut.”

“I wanted to do something to help in any small way I can,” Mika said. So, those who donate at least 10 Euros will get tickets to his live performance on YouTube. Also, in his Instagram bio, he added links to support different Lebanese NGOs.

The singer was devastated by the news of the explosion and started reminiscing his days in Lebanon.

It turns out that four years ago, the exact day the explosion happened, Mika was performing in Baalbek and the singer Tweeted about how lovely the capital was back then and was sad to see it devastated like this.

It is the place of my birth, a part of me and will always be in my heart. I ❤️ Beirut

Days after the explosion, the singer wrote a love letter to Beirut, the city he grew to fall in love with, even miles away.

“The roots which I’d left behind at the age of only one and a half were finally catching up with me,” Mika wrote in his letter, expressing his grief over his motherland.

“Music will pour once again from your windows, people will dance on your terraces and your perfumes will waft from your kitchens. I will be there.”

Here’s his beautiful heartfelt letter to Lebanon, to Beirut, and to the people:
