The explosion in Beirut left hundreds of thousands homeless. And those who didn’t completely lose their homes were left without windows, doors, and any way of securing themselves and their belongings.
This left them even more vulnerable, and more likely to get robbed.
As if it wasn’t enough of misery for them to endure, and while the city mourns and the people are heartbroken, some individuals decided to take advantage of this disaster and deadly explosion to rob these homes.
Fortunately, they were caught. 12 individuals were arrested by the Internal Security Forces on Friday.
The ISF has now deployed more than 500 personnel to maintain security and prevent robberies in various affected areas in Beirut, like Achrafieh, Gemayzeh, Mar Mikhael, and central Beirut.
They also asked the citizens to call 112 to report any person suspected of carrying out such acts.
