After first breaking the record for the largest plastic structure made of water bottles in 2019, Lebanese environmental activist Caroline Chaptini just won her second Guinness World Record for Lebanon.

This time she officially broke the record for the largest mosaic made of bottle caps!

When Ramadan came around this year, she decided to break a new record with this crescent moon and completed it also in a time record in May. She set it up in Miziara, a town in north Lebanon.

With the help of the community, she was able to collect up to 500K bottle caps to make the largest mosaic of bottle caps in the world (240 square meters).

Through her project, she aimed to raise awareness about recycling. Her use of recycled material in both her world records is also a display of the coexistence in Lebanon, with first a Christmas tree and then a crescent moon in tribute of Ramadan/Eid.

Her first win, this Christmas tree, stood in the coastal town of Chekka and beat Mexico’s record.

After beating Mexico’s record, she was excited to beat Japan’s, which she proudly achieved all on her own.

“Who said a woman couldn’t single-handedly break Japan’s Guinness Book of World Records,” she said.

She is selling all of the bottle caps to a recycling factory in Sin El Fil. All of the proceeds will go to Kid’s First Association, a children’s cancer organization.

You also can help by donating your bottle caps and she’s making it possible by collecting them herself. This is how she explains it:
