On Friday, May 29th, Greece announced it will reopen two of its international airports. They plan on accepting arrivals from 29 countries starting June 15th, according to Agence France Presse (AFP) as reported by The Daily Star.
The tourism ministry stated that at the start of the summer season, visitors from 16 European countries, as well as “Lebanon, Australia, Japan, Israel, China, New Zealand, and South Korea”, will be able to enter Greece, said AFP.
Greece is set to open its regional airports by July 1st, which will allow more vacationers from other countries to also get their Meditteranean escape.
Countries in which the virus is rabid were not on the list. This includes France, Italy, Spain, and Britain.
Greece, which economy relies heavily on tourism, has found a way to bring income to its country despite the pandemic. It will open its main airports in Athens and Thessaloniki.
