Taking into consideration the difficult living condition the Lebanese are faced with, the Ministry of Telecommunications has announced that it will postpone the payment of bills of landlines from March this year.

In addition, it will postpone disconnecting fixed lines.

In their statement, the ministry announced that phone bills from the month of March will be postponed until May 4th. The deadline for payment will be on May 20th.

Starting May 21st, subscribers who failed to pay their phone bills will only be able to receive calls but not make them.

On June 2nd, the phone lines on non-paying subscribers will be cut. The fine for reconnecting the line will be 11,000 LPB.

Given the tough current situation with the pandemic and the economic crisis in Lebanon, the people need all the help they can get.

Yesterday, protests took place at the Ministry of Economy and in several different locations despite fears of spreading the virus.

The situation in Lebanon is worsening. However, the government is making small gestures to help its citizens, like the allocation of 400,000 LBP to families in need that the Lebanese army has just begun distributing, and earlier donations of food boxes in Akkar, also distributed by the army.
