The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has begun work on the tunnel in front of the Phoenicia Hotel in downtown Beirut.
They began lighting it up and confirmed that the next phase will include additional work, such as cleaning the tunnel, repairing damaged tiles, and the overall rehabilitation of the tunnel.
