In its daily report on the latest developments regarding the emerging coronavirus (COVID-19), Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) confirmed that 13 coronavirus (COVID-19) patients were released for home quarantine after proven clinical recovery.
“According to the directives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Public Health, 13 patients infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) were taken out of the hospital to home quarantine,” RHUH explained.
Doctors confirmed their clinical recovery and that they are able to proceed with the recovery from home.
RHUH informed them of all measures and instructions related to the home quarantine as per the WHO guidelines.
The instructions were related to interacting with others, personal hygiene, ways of eating food, getting rid of the garbage, and monitoring body temperature daily.
The clinical recovered patients have also been notified of the concerned authorities that they can contact in order to set an appointment for the following coronavirus (COVID-19) examination procedure.
RHUH’s medical team informed the patients that they should contact the Lebanese Red Cross by dialing 140 as soon as one of the following symptoms appears: a high temperature, coughing, sneezing or a runny nose, pain in the throat, or difficulty breathing.
The total number of confirmed laboratory cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) that were isolated in the hospital’s health isolation area reached 57 cases, according to RHUH daily report.
The total number of suspected cases infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) inside the quarantine area is 8 cases. These cases are pending on the result of the laboratory examination.
As for the state of the coronavirus patients at the hospital, RHUH reported that all patients are in a stable state with the exception of two reported as critical. All patients are adhering to necessary care in the isolation unit of the hospital.
RHUH reassured that the Lebanese Red Cross is the only medical institution equipped to transport any cases suspected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the proper way instructed.
As of Thursday, March 19th, the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Lebanon reached 149 throughout Lebanon, according to the daily report of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
