    Lebanese Taekwondo Athlete Just Qualified For The 2024 Paris Olympics

    Lebanon boasts a multitude of champions who continually bring pride to the nation, spanning various ages and disciplines both within and beyond its borders.

    Among these distinguished athletes is Laeticia Aoun, a Lebanese taekwondo champion whose recent accomplishment at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Taian, China, propelled her to the pinnacle of success by securing a coveted spot at the Paris Olympic Games.

    Aoun’s remarkable journey saw her excel in the final qualifiers held in China, competing in the under-57 kg weight category.

    Her exceptional performance included a semifinal victory over Filipino player Jessica Canabal, clinching her ticket to the Olympics.

    Following her qualification, Dr. Habib Zareefa, the president of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation, reached out to Aoun, extending heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Lebanese Taekwondo community.

    Additionally, Jihad Salama, president of the Mont La Salle Club, conveyed his congratulations to Aoun, echoing the pride felt by the entire club family in her remarkable achievement.

    Alongside Aoun’s triumph, Lebanon celebrated the bronze medals earned by Ray Raai (over 80 kg) and Ward Salman (over 67 kg) during the same qualifiers.

    Representing both the Lebanese national team and the Mont La Salle club, Aoun’s qualification for the Summer Olympic Games marks a significant milestone in her illustrious career.

    Scheduled to take place in the French capital from July 26 to August 11, the Olympics await the extraordinary talents of athletes like Aoun.

    Laetitia Aoun, a prominent figure in Lebanese taekwondo, achievements include a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, and another bronze at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey.
