During her audition on The Voice France, Vernis Rouge stunned the audience with her unique rendition of the popular French rap song “Bande Organisée” by Marseille-based rap group 13 Organisé, released in 2020.

What set her performance apart was her ability to transform the rap anthem, known for its raw lyrics, into a soft and soulful cover that resonated with viewers.

Judges Bigflo and Oli, a renowned French hip-hop duo, were visibly impressed from the moment Vernis Rouge began singing.

As she delicately navigated through the song’s verses, seamlessly blending her ethereal vocals with the poignant lyrics, Bigflo couldn’t contain his excitement, exclaiming, “I really like it!”

What added to the intrigue of Vernis Rouge’s performance was her seamless incorporation of the more aggressive expressions from the song. As she sang the line “n**** ta mere,” a colloquial French swear phrase commonly used by Lebanese as well, Bigflo’s surprised reaction to it spoke volumes about the impact of her unique interpretation.

BigFlo & Oli hit the buzzer, notable BigFlo did so with excitement before consulting Oli. Another judge, Mika, who’s also Lebanese and was awarded the Lebanese National Order of Merit for his concert which raised $1.7 Million for Lebanon, hit the buzzer but it was already too late.
