Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan arrived in Beirut and held a press conference with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdallah Bou Habib.
Fidan emphasized that Turkey is doing everything possible to prevent the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas from spreading to Lebanon.
He also revealed that Turkey has been in contact with Hamas regarding some 200 Israeli and foreign captives in Gaza.
The situation is tense as Hezbollah and other Iran-backed groups could escalate the conflict with Israel, potentially leading to a broader war. Israel has warned that if Hezbollah opens a new front, Lebanon will face severe consequences.
