Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently pledged during a news conference to keep Hamas from establishing itself in Lebanon and to secure all fronts.

Escalating violence, which includes rocket attacks originating from Lebanon and Syria and two more fatalities on Monday, prompted his statement.

After Israeli forces stormed the prayer hall of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque, over 30 rockets flew from Lebanon toward Israel the following day. The Israeli military believes Hamas launched the attack.

In retaliation, Israel struck what they identified as Hamas “terror infrastructures” in both the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah‘s Hassan Nasrallah met with Hamas delegation head Ismail Haniyeh to discuss developments in Palestine, ‘resistance,’ and regional politics.

Haniyeh’s Beirut appearance was canceled after cross-border incidents, and while no group claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks on Israel, Israel accused Hamas and retaliated with airstrikes on alleged Hamas sites.
