On November 22nd, the Lebanese people in Lebanon and abroad celebrated their country’s 79th Independence day.
The Lebanese expatriates raised the Lebanese flag with their community in Halifax, Canada, at the City Hall’s Grand Parade and called for a stand of solidarity with their people in Lebanon.
Since the 1800s, the Lebanese community shaped Canada’s provincial capital of Halifax Nova Scotia. It served as a point of entry into Canada for many Lebanese, and more so during the civil war.
