Électricité du Liban (EDL) published the national emergency electricity plan, including new tariffs.
Prepared in coordination with Lebanon’s Ministries of Energy and Finance, the collection of bills calculated under the new tariffs will begin as of February 2023.
The breakdown is as followed:
- A $0.10 charge will be added per kWh consumption, calculated for the first 100 KW, and a charge of $0.27 per kWh consumption above 100 kWh.
- A $0.21 is added per ampere subscription capacity.
- All exceptional tariffs are canceled, namely for industrial, agricultural, touristic, and places of worship, where a price of $0.27 per kWh is approved for those categories.
- A charge of $0.27 is applied for full consumption.
- A charge of $4.30 is calculated as a qualifying allowance for subscriptions that were previously calculated at 5,000 LL and $8.60 for subscriptions that were previously calculated at 10,000 LL.
- Additionally, the tariffs are canceled for private stations, where they will be unified at $0.27 for total consumption (without counting $0.10 for the first 100 kWh consumption).
- The rehabilitation allowance is calculated at 17.5 cents per 1 kVA (previously 200 LL)., and the subscription fee is calculated at $1.05 per 1 kVA (previously 1,200 LL).
- The subscription fee is calculated at $0.70 per 1 KVA (previously 800 LL for subscriptions related to supply stations).
- A charge of $0.10 is calculated for the price of kVArh for every kVArh that exceeds 75% of the actual consumption.
