The Secretary General of Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah, claimed the death of 22-year-old Iranian-Kurdish Mahsa Amini while under Iranian police custody was a “vague incident.”
Amini was arrested by the “morality police” of Iran, which enforce the Iranian regime’s strict religious laws for allegedly not wearing the hijab properly.
She fell into a coma after being beaten and later passed away while under the custody of the Iranian authorities.
A huge wave of angry mass protests has been spreading across Iran as a reaction and to demand freedom. Iranian women have been seen burning their hijab and cutting their hair in protest.
Nasrallah said that her death was being exploited to incite the protests.
“The Iranian state is a target and so any incident is exploited to incite against this state,” Nasrallah claimed.
Nasrallah claims that the protests rocking the country “do not reflect the true will of the Iranian people who he said are loyal to their leadership.”
However, the protests are entering the 3rd week and have spread to over 150 cities, leaving over a hundred killed by Iranian authorities in violent crackdowns.
