A boat carrying a group of illegal emigrants capsized off the Arida beach in Akkar, immediately after taking off at dawn today, Thursday.
The passengers, formed of Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian nationals, returned to the beach swimming, where the ISF Information Division pursued them to arrest them.
Security information indicated that illegal departures take place almost daily, especially from the beaches of Al-Arida and Sheikh Znad in Akkar, while the security forces and the army have begun to tighten control over these points.
