Outcomes Of The Month Of July
The outcome of the security measures taken by army units in various Lebanese regions during the month of July is a total arrest of 469 people of different nationalities for their involvement in various crimes, including drug trafficking, theft, smuggling, and possession of weapons.
The convicted were roaming inside Lebanese territory without legal residency, and driving cars and motorcycles without legal papers.
The seizures included 67 military weapons of various types, quantities of light and medium munitions, a number of mechanisms and motorcycles, in addition to a number of drugs, various materials intended for smuggling, and a number of communication devices.
Clashes In Choueifat Desert
The army’s page posted on Twitter on Wednesday that “clashes between the army and drug dealers in the Choueifat desert resulted in injuries on both sides, and the arrest of a number of wanted men.”
Several breaches of Israeli Gunboats
On Wednesday, the Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
“On 08/22/2022 at 08:18, a gunboat belonging to the Israeli enemy violated the Lebanese territorial waters opposite to Ras Al-Naqoura, at a distance of about 203 meters and for a period of 12 minutes.”
The statement said that between 9:30 and 9:38, a similar hostile boat breached the aforementioned sea spot for a distance of about 463 meters.
And between 12:24 and 12:34, a similar hostile boat violated the aforementioned sea spot, at a distance of about 370 meters.
“The issue of violations is being followed up in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon,” the statement concluded.
Tripoli’s Boat Of Death
The Lebanese army had postponed Monday the mission to search for the sunken boat off the city of Tripoli, due to the high sea waves, which may threaten the safety of the submarine and its crew.
The operations resumed on Thursday, with the submarine reaching the sinking site and carrying out the mission 6 nautical miles from the shore.
