On Wednesday, Lebanon’s Vehicle Registration Center opened for the first time in two months due to the public sector strike.

A large crowd was present to clear their transactions and, according to Annahar, employees were scheduled to extend their working hours in order to complete as much work as possible.

A “positive response” from the Finance Ministry to the demands of the employees on strike brought the Traffic Management Center to reopen for vehicle registration.

According to the Center’s statement, the ministry agreed to arrange a working mechanism that allows the employees to receive social assistance, correcting transportation allowances, and compensations for productivity.

The Center also announced the gradual return to work that starts on Wednesday, August 10.

It will resume the renewal of driving licenses and requests to take appointments for the driving exams.

It will be open on Wednesday and Thursday this week, and on Tuesday and Thursday of next week to finish all the accumulated work.

Work will return to normal starting August 22, from Monday to Wednesday.

As for the mechanic department, it will resume its work starting Thursday, August 18, and will be open every Thursday and Friday.
