The Lebanese documentary Dreaming in a Destroyed Country by Ziad Tannouri competed among hundreds of films from different countries at the Jesuit international film contest “Four Dreams” and won the Grand Prix.

Ziad Tannouri achieved this win with no background education in the filmmaking business and with limited means of sponsorship.
He is an orthodontist, a graduate of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Beirut, and is also an actor, a model, a writer, and a director.
He expressed that this win means a lot to him as he had to work hard by himself, especially in the production, direction, videography, art direction, sound, editing, and coloring.
“This made the film even more personal and genuine, not having any third party intervene between me and the main character,” Tannouri said on his Instagram account.
