In recent years, UNICEF Lebanon has been working to promote education to children living in Lebanon as a way to affect the country’s future.

This time, the organization announced that 520 public schools will open their doors this summer for around 98,000 children to catch up on their learning and prepare for the new academic year.

This program is promoted by funding and support from the European Union and Germany through the German Development Bank (KFW).

UNICEF Lebanon highlighted that in 2021, to compensate for the missed school days, around 53,000 children had to continue their learning and education in 330 public schools throughout the summer season.

This summer, 580 public schools ?? will open their doors for up to 98,000 children to catch up on their learning.

UNICEF Lebanon had previously announced a project to help public schools open their doors to children with disabilities.

Adding that for the 2022-2023 academic year, 60 public schools across Lebanon will welcome 2,500 children with disabilities in their classrooms, where they will be provided with their needs, therapy, assistance, and more.
