For the first time in their history, the U-15 Women National Team topped the West Asian Football Championship with three wins over Palestine, Jordan, and Syria in the final match, winning the 2019 U-15 West Asian Football Championship.
@waffootballThe Lebanese team played three games in the tournament that took place in Polo field in the Jordanian capital of Amman, starting on December 12:
First game: beating Palestine (6-0).
Second game: beating Jordan (1-0) and sending Lebanon to the final game.
Third game: beating Syria 7-0 and claiming the title.
As a result, the Lebanese Team defeated its Syrian counterpart 7-0 in the third and final round, to raise its score to 9 points, achieving the full score, with three wins. The Jordanian team finished second with 4 points, with a goal difference from the Syrian national team finishing third. The Palestinian team came in fourth place without points.
Hussein Said, a member of the Executive Board of the West Asian Federation, crowned the Lebanese national team in the championship cup and awarded our players gold medals, as well as the individual awards allocated by the West Asian Federation.
Lebanese national team player Christie Maalouf received the goal award and Amina Karim won the award for the best player.
The new win is considered the third for Lebanese football. The first was achieved by the Arab U-17 Women’s Cup in 2015 and the second for Al Ahed in the AFC Cup 2019.
The media officer of both the Women’s Committee of the Lebanese Football Association and the West Asian Football Federation, Faten Abi Faraj, explained to FA Lebanon, “This win was emphasized by the talented players on one hand, and the good work of the federation on the other.”
