Lebanon is set to host a delegation of the Arab League for 2 days this weekend in Beirut for a series of meetings with Lebanon’s three top officials and the caretaker government.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib, stated that the attendees would arrive in Lebanon on Friday. The delegation includes the Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and some ministers from Arab countries.

They will all meet with President Michel Aoun, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri.

During his last visit to Beirut back in March, the Arab League Secretary-General announced that the consultative ministerial meeting would take place in Lebanon.

He met with President Aoun to tackle the topics of the parliamentary elections, the file of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and announced the date of the next Arab Summit.

The next Arab League Summit is set to take place in Algeria in November after being postponed from March due to the surge in COVID cases.
