People’s health concerns keep increasing in Lebanon at the high cost of hospitalization, the interruption of a large number of medicines, and the lifting of subsidies in whole or in part for a large part of them.
Adding to the financial crisis in the country, health care has become a huge burden on the majority in the country.
However, 262 primary health care centers are the spot of light that deserves support.
These centers work to provide many services, ranging from medicine to vaccines and clinics, for a very nominal fee.
The health center receives all people residing in the Lebanese territory with no exception.
Patients only need to show any identification card, civil record extract, passport, or selected document. At that point, a file is opened that enables them to obtain the available package of services.
Those who are registered are covered by the services of these centers, in addition to those guaranteed by the National Social Security Fund.
The Director of Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Randa Hamadeh, assured that “there is no place for clientelism and every citizen has the right to obtain medicine, vaccination, and health checks” at these centers.
