    Two Lebanese Featured On Forbes’ Women Behind Middle Eastern Tech Brands 2022

    Forbes revealed MENA’s 20 Women Behind Middle Eastern Tech Brands 2022 featuring two Lebanese women.

    According to Forbes, Women in the MENA region are taking up leading roles and are now establishing very successful businesses.

    The 20 Women Behind Middle Eastern Tech Brands 2022 list highlights the female founders and cofounders of the Middle East’s most successful tech platforms and apps.

    The 2022 list focuses on women from 17 nationalities within 13 sectors.

    Forbes made its selection according to the tech brands endorsed by celebrities, the number of countries they are present in, the number of social media followers, the years of experience, the amount of external funding, and more.

    Here are the two Lebanese women featured in Forbes’ 20 Women Behind Middle Eastern Tech Brands 2022:

    Nadine Mezher

    Sarwa

    A mother and tech enthusiast, Nadine Mezher is the co-founder of Sarwa, a financial advisory platform established in 2017.

    Co-founded by Mark Chahwan and Jad Sayegh, Sarwa now serves more than 80,000 users. They released Sarwa Trade in 2021, a zero-commission, zero transfer fee, trade podium.

    During the same year, it raised $15 million in funding from the Mubadala Investment Company, Hambro Perks Oryx Fund, HALA Ventures, and Middle East Venture Partners.

    The company also raised $25 million in funding from many other investors, including KIPCO and California-based 500 Startups.

    Dana Baki

    Dana Baki – LUNCH: ON

    In 2015, Dana Baki launched a food delivery app called MUNCH: ON (previously known as LUNCH: ON).

    Operating in the U.A.E. and Saudi Arabia, the startup raised $15 million in investments from many investors including Wamda Capital, Global Ventures, Derayah VC Fund, Mindshift Capital, and Vision VC.

    The platform now works with more than 400 restaurants in Dubai and delivers across the United Arab Emirates.

    Baki also served as a senior manager at P&G and holds an MBA from Georgetown University.
