On Thursday, the Minister Of Interior, Bassam Mawlawi, assigned the polling stations for the Lebanese citizens residing abroad.
The long-awaited May 15 parliamentary elections are around the corner, with many eligible voters gearing up to change the future of their country.
On Monday, 103 electoral lists were officially registered, which exceeded the number recorded in the 2018 elections with 77 lists.
The registered candidates will be scattered around 128 seats in the parliament, for a 4-year mandate.
The voting will take place in Lebanon on Sunday, May 15th, and in the diaspora on May 6th or May 8th depending on the cities of their residence.
Lebanese voters abroad should now expect an email from their embassies informing them of their polling stations and voting details.
The European Union will send election observers to monitor the elections in Lebanon, at the invitation of the Lebanese government.
The EU appointed György Hölvényi as Chief Observer of the Mission for the fourth time.
The EU has also been committed to assisting Lebanon’s electoral process by providing financial and technical support, emphasizing on EU’s mission to support democracy in Lebanon and provide a transparent electoral process.
