Seven men have been given life sentences for killing Lebanese-born Aya Hachem in the United Kingdom last year.
The 7 members of the group that was involved in the murder of 19-year-old Lebanese-born Aya Hachem were sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 216 years combined.
A verdict was also issued on a woman for manslaughter related to the crime.
The verdict was announced earlier this week, concluding a wide investigation that involved “23 arrests, 88,000 hours worth of CCTV, phone records, GPS systems, and other digital forensics” as per the Lancashire Police Department.
Aya’s brother, Ibrahim Hachem, commented on the verdict by saying that he is “glad a lot of people are going to be safe from these thugs and no one else is going to be hurt.”
Aya Hachem was killed on May 17 of last year when she was coincidentally caught in a drive-by shooting while going to buy groceries for her family who wanted to break their fast during Ramadan.
Feroz Suleman had hired a hitman to murder his rival tire shop owner by shooting him. The bullet that the hitman fired went through Aya’s shoulder and killed her as soon as she was taken to the hospital.
