If you’re reading this, then you’ve probably seen my article guide about finding yourself around Downtown Beirut’s restaurants. Khalde, that lovely Lebanese city in the south, is also a place to discover and enjoy, whether you are a tourist or a Lebanese resident.
Khalde is a narrow strip with multiple restaurants that can confuse you to choose where to eat while driving through.
To help you with your decision if your heading to Khalde, I narrowed them down to my top 10 favorites:
#1 Munchease
I had to put this number one, considering that my obsession with burgers goes a long way. So, Munchease it is!
They started off as a small shack, and they regularly kept expanding into one of the most famous burger joints. Their ambiance is perfect chill and their princes are comfortable. The best times are, obviously, for lunch and dinner.
#2 19
19 is a beautiful building that comprises of a spacious restaurant. They serve basically every type of cuisine that comes to mind. The location is also right on the Khalde strip, making it convenient for more than casual dining.
Their prices are relatively comfortable and their portions are generous. Any time is suitable to eat at 19 because they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
#3 Kababji
This is an authentic Lebanese restaurant which serves, in my opinion, one of the freshest sandwiches in Lebanon. Their ambiance is super casual and their portions are fair. The quality is amazing. They are great for lunch and dinner.
#4 Pizzanini
Okay, so this pizza joint really needs higher recognition. Their huge pizzas are delicious. They are indeed very generous with the portions and their prices are great. This is a super casual place, and they also have delivery.
#5 Al Abdullah Chicken
I kid you not; this place actually has the best chicken meals. I don’t know what it is, or what makes it what it is, but it’s just so good. They are available for dining in and offer delivery services. Their prices are not too heavy on the wallet either.
#6 Nai
Nai is a great place for an above casual dining experience in Khalde. They serve Italian, American and Lebanese food, which is convenient for everyone with the multiple food options. Their outdoor and interior decors are also pleasing to the eye.
#7 Tonino
I had to add dessert to this list, and who doesn’t look for a good crepe? Or waffle? Or basically anything with Nutella? Tonino’s has the best crepes in town and they are a pretty speedy delivery service. They are super affordable and really delicious.
#8 Arwad
Seafood? Sea view? Yes, please! Arwad is a beautiful restaurant by the sea, serving delicious seafood and in generous portions. Its usual dress code is for sporty chic. Arwad is a beautiful place to dine or have lunch with a beautiful view in front of you.
#9 La Siesta
La Siesta is a beach resort that also caters to people’s hunger with their delicious seafood restaurant. You can enjoy the day on the pool and feast with La Siesta’s seafood. Its dress code is casual and its prices affordable.
#10 FISHinn
I couldn’t end this list without my favorite food in the world. Sushi, always! They’re super affordable compared to most sushi places. Their dining experience is super casual and they are also convenient considering they do delivery.
