Lebanese security forces have arrested a dangerous man wanted for committing dozens of crimes while riding a bike, in several areas in Lebanon.
After receiving increasing complaints about a masked individual who would steal from people while on his motorcycle, particularly in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) began working on identifying and locating the suspect.
The ISF’s Information Branch tasked its specialized departments with bringing the suspect to justice, and investigations ultimately led to “A.H.,” a 38-year-old Lebanese national nicknamed “The Ghost,” according to a statement released by the ISF on Monday.
The suspect was arrested on May 24th in an ambush set up by the Information Branch in the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the bike he had been using for criminal activity was seized at the scene.
During his interrogation, A.H. confessed that he had committed more than 50 thefts and robberies in several Lebanese areas, including Ain El-Rimmaneh, Furn El-Chebbak, Sayyad, Mkalles, Dekwaneh, Dbayeh, Zalka, Jal El-Dib, Antelias, and others.
He said that he would sell a large part of the items he’d steal in the Shatila refugee camp. The required legal measures have been taken against him, the ISF said.
In accordance with a judicial notice, the ISF has shared A.H.’s photograph and asked people who have fallen victim to his crimes and identified him to call the Mount Lebanon Information Branch on 01/513732, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures.
