In continuation of its efforts to support the people of Lebanon in the wake of the overlapping crises, Rebuild Beirut Benefit is holding a fundraising virtual concert in the United States.

The concert will raise money for organizations contributing to relief efforts in Beirut, including FoodBlessed, the Anti-Racism Movement, Basmeh & Zeitooneh, and This is Lebanon.

Canadian comedian and Ramy co-star Dave Merheje will host the event, which will feature American singer Martha Wash, Egyptian rockstar and human rights activist Ramy Essam, and Lebanese-British actress and writer Isabelle Farah.

The concert, which comes as the Lebanese continue to suffer the devastating effects of the economic crisis that has been exacerbated by the pandemic, will take place at Arlene’s Grocery venue in New York City.

Rebuild Beirut Benefit is a volunteer-run event series that raises funds for Beirut-based relief organizations.

Its first concert series took place in September 2020, around a month after the deadly Beirut Port explosion, raising more than $11,000 in aid for Beirut.

The concert brought together live performances and donated merchandise from artists and celebrities around the world, with contributions from Lebanese-American actor Tony Shalhoub, English band Iron Maiden, Lebanese-American radio host Jad Abumrad, and others.

The upcoming concert will involve the release of a compilation album of the performances from Rebuild Beirut Benefit’s original 4-part series, available for streaming and purchase.

The album will feature original recordings from various artists, including Ramy Essam, Lynn Adib, Zeid Hamda, Jowan Safadi, and more, and its proceeds will go to support relief efforts in Beirut.

The show will air on March 7th at 10 PM Beirut time on Noonchorus.
