The wine society has a long history with Lebanon, but this specific Rosé is about to make history itself.

The carefully handcrafted Lebanese IXSIR’s Grande Reserve Rosé 2018 competed against 204,675 different wines from across the globe and came out winning the title of the best Rosé in the world.

More than 190,000 wine professionals and enthusiasts were selected from 115 different countries and given the responsibility of choosing the best wine in the world from the voted wines of 3 million people.

The next phase required two blind-tasting sessions by wine experts like the Masters of Wine and the Tastingbook professionals to select the best out of the top 100 of each wine category.

The best Rosé was awarded to the IXSIR Grande Reserve Rosé 2018 of Lebanon. It is locally produced on the hills of Batroun, Mount Lebanon, in a contemporary winery of an ancient traditional house of 17th century and is known for its sustainable agriculture.

IXSIR produces in a year 500,000 bottles of beautifully made premium wines, as they take the grapes from growers in six different mountain vineyards.

“We produce wines in a modern way but on very old grounds. We want to make a new expression of Lebanon, using familiar varieties in unfamiliar areas,” co-founder of IXSIR Etienne Debbane told The Buyer.

Named by CNN as one of the greenest buildings in the world, the IXSIR winery is also the recipient of several awards, notably the Good Green Design Award, the international Architizer A+ Award, and the Green Mind MENA Award.

So, next time you’re shopping for the perfect wine bottle, keep in mind you’re standing on a land that produces the actual best Rosé in the world.
