Joyce Azzam is a mountaineer and a conservation architect that aims to become the first Lebanese woman and the world’s second woman to climb the seven highest peaks of the world and reach the two poles. According to
, the Lebanese climber holds a master’s degree in Conservation of Historic Cities and Buildings. She is currently Ph.D. Candidate in Landscape & Environment at La Sapienza University of Rome. Last year on February 12, Joyce reached South America’s highest peak which is Cerro Aconcagua (6,962 meters). Also, she is the first Lebanese woman that raised the Lebanese flag on Denali (6,190 meters), the highest peak of North America on June 22. Joyce climbed five peaks out of seven. To complete her challenge, she still needs to climb Mount Everest and the Vinson Massif, and reach the South Pole. We wish her all the best!
