President Michel Aoun opened the doors of the Baabda Palace yesterday and today to students from different regions of Lebanon to hold early celebrations for the Lebanese Independence Day. The students were given a tour of the Presidential Palace where they learned about its history and met President Michel Aoun. This year, the tour included geography and history lessons about the independence of Lebanon. Also, the young visitors had the opportunity to learn about the Lebanese Army. The students sat in official meeting rooms where they voiced their concerns and hopes for the country. They also exchanged their opinions about the problems that Lebanon is currently facing such as the water and the electricity crises. They also attended workshops where they learned about: tree planting, safe driving, gender equality, dangers of drugs and alcohol, loom knitting, and basket weaving. Despite the tension in Lebanon, which is caused by the
resignation of the Prime Minister Saad Hariri
, the president insisted on holding this ceremony. The students thanked the President for inviting them to the palace, and the Lebanese Army for protecting Lebanon. They also hope for the Prime Minister Saad Hariri to return as soon as possible.
