Tiffany Trump and Michael Boulos broke the Internet this week with an engagement picture taken in the White House, hours before Trump’s father left the office for the transition of power with U.S. President Joe Biden.
The couple made headlines again shortly after the announcement when Trump revealed her shiny new engagement ring on social media.
The diamond ring weighs more than 13 carats and holds an emerald-shaped center stone flanked with two trapeze-cut diamonds. According to its designer, it is G-color with VVS1 Clarity.
The ring is the work of New York celebrity Lebanese jeweler Samer Halimeh, who attended the proposal in the White House. Though its price has not been declared, it is believed to be over $1 million.
Halimeh is one of the world’s leading diamond traders whose work has repeatedly been spotted glittering on big-name celebrities, including Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Naomi Campbell, Oprah Winfrey, as well as royalty members around the world.
Born in Beirut in 1974, Halimeh was attracted to the diamond trade at an early age, and he successfully bartered over his first diamond purchase at the age of 12 in Beirut, according to his website.
Despite the odds being against him as he grew up in the heat of the civil war, Halimeh pursued his dream career over the years as he gradually built a name for himself in the luxurious industry.
The jeweler’s remarkable works have been auctioned at Sotheby’s and Christie’s, and he has unearthed the Ocean Blue Diamond, one of the rarest diamonds in the world, among other rare finds that have helped give his creations their unmatched allure.
